Arquitectonica is a major presence on the world architectural stage. Founded in 1977, the firm received critical and popular attention and acclaim almost from its inception, thanks to a bold modernism that was immediately identified with a renaissance in Miami's urban landscape. Principals Bernardo Fort-Brescia and Laurinda Spear have continued exploring and pushing the limits of their innovative use of geometry, pattern, and color to introduce a new brand of humanistic modern design to the world. Today their practice spans the globe, with projects in 58 countries on five continents. Over the years, Arquitectonica has received hundreds of design awards, and the firm's groundbreaking work has been the subject of exhibitions at numerous museums and institutions.

"A thin vertical band of glass floats over a garden and rises to the sky. It then bends and descends towards the ground and then rises again to the sky. This ribbon verticalizes the building façade while projecting a powerful graphic image upon arrival to San Francisco and from the downtown skyline. "

"Interpolating the architecture with a deep sense of restorative home, we approached 33 Tehama with a focused attention to materiality, texture and sophistication. Inspired by the design clarity of luxury boutique hotel brands, we weaved together traditional materials and complex design strategies to produce a refined aesthetic that operates in conversation with Arquitectonica’s architecture – and the city. "
VIVIAN LEE" Edmonds + Lee Architects"Yayoi Kusama's work has transcended two of the most important art movements of the second half of the twentieth century: Pop art and Minimalism. Her extraordinary and highly influential career spans multiple disciplines, which allude at once to microscopic and macroscopic universes. Born in 1929 in Matsumoto, Japan, Kusama briefly studied painting in Kyoto before moving to New York City in the late 1950's. Since her first solo show in Japan in 1952, the artist's work has been featured widely in both solo and group presentations and numerous international museum retrospectives worldwide.
The 33 Tehama Plaza Commission design, her first major Bay Area project, is a remarkable chance for residents to live with an iconic environment. As art consultant Michele Quinn says, "The Plaza commission by Yayoi Kusama is more than just a design feature, but a bold intervention that completely encompasses the entire outdoor area and transcends into the lobby with the artist's signature bright red polka dots. Kusama creates an iconic environment that directly and indirectly plays with the surface of the existing landscape.

In 2000, three friends got together and founded CMG Landscape Architecture to create a practice based on invention, creativity, and craft. Since then, we've pursued our ideas in numerous and diverse places with the goal to create great places where people want to be. We are a mission oriented studio working to increase social and ecological wellbeing through artful design. Whether we are designing public plazas, parks and streets, or the next generation of tech campuses, we create high quality and interesting places where people can connect to one another and to nature. At the core of our work is an attention to public space and living systems, to how the built environment shapes human interaction, and to the way human innovation can foster a thriving natural world. We believe to make a place authentic and truly memorable it has to be specific to its place in the world; both its culture and its nature. This is the focus of our work.
